Lend Lease Program

The Lend Lease program was an act passed by Congress on March 11, 1941. The act allowed for 7 billion dollars to be put into plane, ship, tanks and other supplies to be sent to non Axis countries. The U.S. sent many supplies the Allied powers including the U.S.S.R. The Lend Lease program produced spam to be sent to the hungry citizens of Russia. This helped Russia immensely because at the time when Germany invaded Russia many food sources were cut of. Many citizens of the U.S.S.R. were in a state of Famine. All together a sum of $50 billion was appropriated by Congress.
